Palanga Botanical Park Birute

Experts recognize that parks of Lithuania are no way inferior to the famous British parks. Birute Palanga Botanical Park - one of the finest, best-preserved and well-kept parks not only in Lithuania, but also in Eastern Europe.

This natural park in English style was founded in 1897 by Felix Tiskevicius Earl (1865-1931).

At present the area of Palanga Botanical Park more than 100 hectares, forest plantations occupy 60 hectares, meadows - 24.5 hectares, flower beds - 0.5 hectares, ponds - 1.16 ha, paths and alleys are about 18 km.

Beach Park stretches 1.5 km, in 2003 it was given the Blue Flag certificate.

Earl F. Tyshkevich Palace (Amber Museum)

Representational palace counts Tyszkiewicz was designed by German architect Franz Svechten (Franz Schwechten). This impressive building, built by Felix Tyshkevich when he settled permanently in Palanga.

This palace in neoclassical style with a terrace, where you can climb stairs, decorated with sculptures made in Paris lion and vases. South facade has a portico with columns and balustrade terrace, where you can get in the rose garden.

Here in 1963 has been created created Palanga Amber Museum - definitely a jewel decoration and Palanga. Amber Museum is a division of the Lithuanian Art Museum.

Birutė

Birutė in Palanga is located in manor park counts Tyszkiewicz. This is the highest (altitude 200 m) relict dune. Since the XVII century. it is indicated in all major cards.
