Georgia. Gudauri Resort
Gudauri is a growing mountain resort located on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia, which is charming its guests with great opportunities for outdoor activities in the mountains, amazing scenery and friendly atmosphere.
The resort is located near the Cross Pass (2379 m. above sea level) and in 43 km from the second highest mountain in Georgia, Kazbegi mountain (5033 m.).
Location: The resort is located on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus mountain range in the municipality Stephantsminda (former Kazbegi district).
Distance: Gudauri - Tbilisi 120 km.
Gudauri is situated on a small plateau, at an altitude of 1900-2200 meters above sea level, along the Georgian Military Highway, approximtely 120 km from Tbilisi, and 79 km from Vladikavkaz.
Snow season usually starts in December and lasts until mid-April (sometimes unlit May). The average thickness of the snow cover in winter is 1.5 meters. The resort is also characterized by its versatility as there are opportunities for skiing for both amateurs and professionals.
Gudauri - a freeride mecca
High and free-of-greenery mountains made the resort a mecca for lovers of off-piste. High and prolonged slopes can bring a lot of pleasure to those who have overcome their fear, and are ready to conquer. The total length of prepared routes in 2012 was 57 km. The highest point on the mountain slopeson Sadzele mountain is 3 267 m, the bottom one is 2050 m. Difference in height at the resort is 1200 meters. Length of freeride trails cannot be measured. It consists of huge multi-kilometer field slopes of Gudauri with hundreds freeride descents. Tracks are regularly attended. Length of the longest descent is 7 km. There is slalom, giant slalom, super-giant and downhill tracks. Cableways run from 10 to 16 hours (in case of a power outage cable cars are equipped with emergency diesel machines).

- Hotel Gudauri Marco Polo, a 4-star hotel, is located in the ski resort. It offers spa with indoor pool, and each room is equipped with a flat-screen TV. Guests can rent ski equipment. After skiing, guests can relax in the sauna and hot tub, as well as have massage and rest in games room with a table for billiards.
- Hotel Carpe Diem is a 4-star hotel in the center of Gudauri. It offers modern rooms, free WiFi and a restaurant with Georgian cuisine. Each morning Carpe Diem offers an extensive "buffet". In the evenings, the elegant restaurant serves local and European cuisine.
- Mini Hotel George. This hotel is located 100 meters from the ski lift Gudauri, in the center of the popular ski resort. For guests there is a ski rental, a kitchen to share and cozy rooms that provide free WiFi. The mini-hotel "George" can offer individually decorated rooms with a TV. Guests can rent skiing equipment, as well as store it on the territory of the hotel. In addition, there is the opportunity to spend the day exploring the natural reservation Zarelskoe Gorge, which is located in 25 km from the hotel.
