Vitamin B15: Well Known Facts

Vitamin B15 Benefits for the Body

Important physiological significance of vitamin B15 is to avoid the accumulation of fat in the liver.

It is able to provide a methyl group used in the body for the synthesis of phospholipids , nucleic acids and other biologically active substances important for the healthy functioning of the body.

Pangamic acid has the following useful features:

  • reduces cholesterol and fat in the blood,
  • improves tissue respiration,
  • relieves fatigue ,
  • reduces the craving for alcohol,
  • is good for the prevention of cirrhosis in the liver,
  • promotes the excretion of toxins;
  • prolongs life of cells.

Pangamic acid improves the metabolism in the body and has anti-inflammatory properties. It promotes the synthesis of substances in the body that provide performance of tissues and organs.

Normal body providing vitamin B15 supports adrenal activity that increases the production of hormones.

Sources of Vitamin B15

Vitamin B15 is found in almost all plants, especially seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, sesame ). Pangamic acid is also found in liver, whole grains, cantaloupe, watermelon, almond, apricot.

Excess and Deficiency of Vitamin B15

According to experts pangamic acid is not toxic, so there is no info on the side effects when it is abundant in the body. Some side effects may be observed in the elderly: increased headaches, irritability, insomnia, worsening of the cardiovascular system and tachycardia.

According to some studies, vitamin B15 deficiency can manifest reduction of oxygen to the cells, which in turn can lead to nervous and endocrine disorders, cardiac disorders, fatigue, premature aging.

Pangamic Acid Interaction with Other Substances

Pangamic acid is readily soluble in water. It interacts with some alien for human body substances (eg toxic chlorinated compounds), helping them to defuse it.

Vitamin B15 minimizes the side effects of uncontrolled aspirin, protecting the adrenal glands and stomach. Also it’s highly encouraged to take this vitamin with high doses of antibiotics and sulfonamides.

Vitamins A and E reinforce the effect of vitamin B15 metabolism. In some cellular biochemical reactions body vitamin B15 interacts with vitamin B12.
