Foods Rich In Potassium Can Reduce Blood Pressure
It is believed that the abundance of salt is the main cause of high blood pressure. But the study showed that potassium deficiency in the diet is also associated with high blood pressure. For teenage girls, consuming more potassium has subsequently reduced the pressure. 2185 girls were examined. They were watched from 9-10 years and 19-20 years.
But the consumption of salt (sodium) itself does not affect the pressure. Apparently, the consumption of 3,000 milligrams of sodium no longer affects teenage girls, but the consumption of 2400 milligrams of potassium a day can reduce blood pressure, both systolic and diastolic.
Recalling: World Health Organization (WHO) does not recommend to consume more than 2,000 milligrams of sodium a day. But WHO says nothing regarding potassium. Potassium is found in potatoes, bananas, tomato sauce, green vegetables, citrus fruits, fish, yogurt and skim milk.
